At just 10 years old, published author Emiliana Fuger has delivered more than 40 Turtle Talks to over 3,000 people, sharing her book, Anatomy Under the Sea: The Adventures of Luna the Loggerhead, and inspiring audiences to follow their curiosity, ask big questions, and explore the wonders of marine life.
From schools and Girl Scout troops to aquariums, science centers, libraries, and marine conservation organizations, Emiliana brings marine anatomy to life through storytelling and hands-on learning.
Dive Into Learning
It all started when Emiliana wanted to "see inside" a sea turtle. While building a sea turtle anatomy model at just 8 years old, she couldn't find a children's book that explained what she wanted to learn — so she decided to write one herself!
Beautifully illustrated by Jess Burbank, her rhyming picture book combines science and imagination as Luna the Loggerhead explores South Florida's waters and compares her internal anatomy to eight fascinating marine animals.
During her Turtle Talks, Emiliana reads her book, shares her life-size 3D-printed loggerhead sea turtle model with removable organs, and shares how she turned her curiosity into a published book at just 9 years old!
What to Expect
Each Turtle Talk lasts approximately 20–30 minutes and includes:
A lively reading of Anatomy Under the Sea
A hands-on demo of Luna’s internal anatomy
Fun turtle worksheets and coloring pages
A peek into Emiliana’s writing and publishing journey
Q&A time — kids love asking how she did it!
Optional book signing and meet & greet
She’s most comfortable with groups of up to 50 students, so everyone gets a chance to participate and ask questions. Larger presentations and programs for different age groups can also be accommodated.

About Emiliana
Emiliana Fuger is a 10-year-old Hispanic author, 2025 Wavemaker STEM Competition winner, and 2025 Go Blue Award Finalist. Her story has been featured on PBS Kids' America's Awesome Kids, NPR, and in publications including Palm Beach Illustrated and Jupiter Magazine.
Her book, published by Orange Hat Publishing, has been accepted into the Library of Congress's permanent collection and is available through the Palm Beach County Library System.
Through her Turtle Talks, Emiliana hopes to inspire other kids to follow their curiosity, explore the ocean, and discover that they're never too young to make a difference.
When she's not writing or giving talks, Emiliana loves exploring South Florida's beaches, collecting seashells, and dreaming up her next adventure under the sea.
